Georgina Gold (née Pemberton) has over twenty years’ specialist experience in the global art industry. She began her career at Phillips Fine Art Auctioneers in London before being appointed to manage Rex Irwin Art Dealer in 2000. In 2003, she joined Sotheby’s in Australia and was made Head of the Australian Art Department, where she focussed on 19th and 20th century art. After eleven years, she relocated to London and was appointed Director of Agnew’s Gallery, focused on the 20th Century and Contemporary exhibition program, before ultimately returning to Sotheby’s in 2012 where she was appointed Senior Director, specialist and auctioneer for the Impressionist and Modern Art department in London.

Georgina’s dynamic character and natural flare for auctioneering has seen her requested for numerous high-profile charity events. She is regularly invited to speak as a guest lecturer at institutions including the Royal Academy of Arts and in 2005 was selected to be a fine arts specialist for the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. Georgina is also a Trustee for the British Sporting Art Trust and is frequently invited to judge art prizes in locations worldwide.
